Happy 90th Birthday, Nanny!

On July 23rd, my sweet Nanny celebrated her 90th birthday in style with a big party at the Palmetto Train Depot.  Over 100 people came out to share the day with our family.  Thanks to everyone who helped pull off this big event!  Hope you enjoy the pictures.  

We arranged for some special transportation to the Train Depot.  What a great car!

Mayor Boddie presented Nanny with a proclamation that July 23rd is officially Susie Parrott Day in Palmetto.  Y'all remember to add that to your calendar!

The Train Depot is a beautiful venue.  There's also a museum housed inside with all kinds of interesting local artifacts.

Summertime Shenanigans

Just a few pictures from our adventures this summer!

Abby and Emily got to spend some quality time with Frank the Tank during a late July 4th celebration with the Blounts.

There's never a photo of the two of us.  We'll just have to settle for a selfie.

Emily and I started volunteering with RescueCats this summer.  She's loving getting to spend quality time with her friends of the feline persuasion.

Our pool time has been limited due to the rainy weather this summer (check out the clouds in the background!), but we've still squeaked in enough trips for Emily to get super bronze.  As for me...meh.

Washington DC trip

This summer marked a major milestone for Abby - her first plane trip!  Donald, Emily, Abby, and I took a two day trip to Washington DC to experience some history, but also to experience the fun of flight.  Abby was a real trooper!  Even though I kept Dramamine and the puke bag handy, she never needed it - even when we flew home during a thunderstorm!  The girls are great travelers and stayed in good spirits while we walked all over town (with the exception of a pedicab trip on the very last day, but I take full responsibility for that.  I just couldn't walk any more!) Can't wait to see where our next trip leads us!

Of all the odd things, the Donovan House offers guests a complimentary goldfish to keep during their stay.  This was a big hit with the kiddos.
